SonaKrete Premium Acoustical Finish
CSI: 09 83 00 • 09 83 16
SonaKrete is a premium acoustic finish with a very refined, plaster texture. SonaKrete is spray-applied, then troweled for a seamless finish making it ideal for historic renovation and domed or arched ceilings. SonaKrete is specified in interior spaces to reduce excessive noise and improve intelligibility without compromising aesthetic objectives. Additionally, SonaKrete typically provides these features at a more competitive install cost than alternative acoustical plaster systems. SonaKrete is available in two standard and specially-matched custom colors.
Premium Acoustical Finish System
SonaKrete is composed of uniquely prepared cellulose fibers combined with natural fire retardants in a strict, quality-controlled manufacturing process to produce a Class A, Class 1 rated material.
SonaKrete is installed by an international network of professional contractors licensed by ICC. During application, SonaKrete is spray-applied in thin layers, and with each pass, troweled out to compress the product for a total thickness ranging from 1/4" to 3/4" thick. All edges are trimmed for a seamless appearance to adjacent surfaces or textures. The final result is a beautiful hard finish, free from irregularities.

Sound Control
SonaKrete reduces noise and reverberation present in interior spaces, significantly improving ambient sound quality and intelligibility without interfering with design goals.
SonaKrete's superior acoustical performance is measured using the room reverberation method per ASTM C 423 to calculate a noise reduction coefficient (NRC). At just 1/2", Sonakrete achieves an impressive NRC of .65. This, along with a spray-applied and troweled application method makes SonaKrete the perfect solution for historical renovation, concert halls, or any commercial project where aesthetics and acoustical performance are key.
